Ein Tag ist kein allzu langer Zeitraum, um ein Haus zu bauen. Der französische Künstler Olivier Grossetête lädt die Grazer dazu ein, in eben dieser Zeitspanne ein flüchtiges Gebäude aus Karton und Klebeband zu errichten. „Les bâtisses soeurs d’éphémères“ nennt er dieses neue Haus, das sich bis zu 20 Meter über den altbekannten Boden der Stadt erheben kann. Ein grandioses Luftschloss, das für einen Moment die Wahrnehmung der aktuellen Stadt verändert, neuen Raum schafft, an dem gelebt, gedacht, gestaltet und gefeiert wird. Aber „Éphémère“ bedeutet auf französisch Eintagsfliege – und so wird das flüchtige Gebäude am nächsten Tag nur noch Erinnerung sein, und zu dessen spektakulärem Ende werden wiederum viele Menschen und Bewohner beitragen.

One day is not too long a period of time to build a house. The French artist Olivier Grossetête invites the people of Graz to erect an ephemeral building made of cardboard and adhesive tape in just this amount of time. "Les bâtisses soeurs d'éphémères" is what he calls this new house that can rise up to 20 metres above the old familiar ground of the city. A grandiose castle in the air that changes the perception of the current city for a moment, creates new space where people live, think, create and celebrate. But "Éphémère" means mayfly in French - and so the fleeting building will be only a memory the next day, and its spectacular end will again be contributed to by many people and residents.
