Significant Other 2019
Significant Other ist ein junger Ausstellungsraum in Wien, der verschiedene Aspekte der Beziehungen zwischen zeitgenössischer Kunst, Architektur und Städteplanung und deren soziale und politische Wechselwirkungen beleuchtet. Durch die Verbindung von bildender Kunst mit dem Alltag wurde versucht, Exklusivität und Elitismus zu überwinden. Phileas hatte eine Einzelausstellung der französischen Künstlerin Céline Condorelli koproduziert, die im Frühjahr 2019 eröffnete und einen Dialog zwischen Ausstellung im Raum und Kunst öffentlichen Raum initiierete. Dieses Projekt wurde entstehen mit großzügiger Unterstützung von legero united|con-tempus.eu.Céline Condorelli (* 1974 in Paris) lebt und arbeitet in London. Sie stellte bereits u. a. an folgenden internationalen Institutionen aus: Hessel Museum, New York; Kunsthalle Lissabon; Camden Arts Center, London; MAK, Österreich; LUMA, Arles und Whitechapel Gallery, London. Im Jahr 2016 nahm sie an den Biennalen in Liverpool und Gwangju teil.

Significant Other is a young exhibition space in Vienna that focuses on different aspects of the relations between contemporary art, architecture and urban design and their social and political implications. By combining fine art and daily life, it seeks to overcome issues of exclusivity and elitism. Phileas co-produced the solo exhibition by French artist Céline Condorelli, which opened in the spring of 2019 and aimed at orchestrating a conversation between exhibitions and art in public space. This project was generously supported by legero united|con-tempus.eu.Céline Condorelli (b. 1974 in Paris) lives and works in London. She has exhibited at a number of international institutions, including the Hessel Museum, New York; the Kunsthalle Lisbon; Camden Arts Centre, London; MAK, Austria; LUMA, Arles and Whitechapel Gallery, London. In 2016, she participated in the Liverpool and Gwangju Biennials.
